In this course, children are given the opportunity to embody the varying mastery layers of dramatic structures within the texts of the greatest writer in the English Language and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist: William Shakespeare!
Through imaginative and immersive activities, children will get to dive deep into the richness of language, themes and plots within the literature of the ‘Bard of Avon’ at a level appropriate for their age. Children will make meaning from his words, they will carry out critical analysis of his texts, incubating ideas and making connections before responding and expressing knowledge gained through movements, drama, writing and other means.
From creating character webs to crafting set designs and costumes, not forgetting explorations of the different exciting, related job roles, children will have an unforgettable learning experience and gain profound appreciation of the literary genius, William Shakespeare.

Shakespeare texts are major texts examined in GCSE English Literature and early exposure to the text can only work to children’s advantage.
